Two groups, one night a week

Ten Wednesdays, October 14 to December 16. Grade 7s and grade 12s are in very different places, so each age group gets its own room.

Tony Babcock

Founder · Lead instructor

Tony Babcock is a professional actor and improviser, keynote speaker and educator. He has taught drama to Milton students for 16 years, and has taught theatre and improv with ArtHouse Halton, ROCK (Reach Out Centre for Kids), and Milton Youth Theatre Productions / Milton Community Theatre.

He trained in Drama & Performance at The Juilliard School and The Stella Adler Studio in New York City. He has been a host on Teletoon, has worked on TV shows across Netflix, Amazon Prime, TVO, CTV and CBS, and is best known for playing Duran Dane in Cartoon Network's Bakugan.

Questions parents ask

Does my kid need drama experience?

No. Improv is a great equalizer. There are no scripts, no lines to memorize and no lead roles, so beginners and experienced students work in the same scenes and everyone gets better together.

My kid is quiet. Is this for them?

Especially for them. Improv rewards listening more than loudness, and every student gets stage time every class.

What is improv, exactly?

Theatre made up on the spot. Players take a suggestion and build a scene together with no script. The core rule is “yes, and”: accept what your partner offers and add to it. It's the same skill behind a great conversation, interview or group project.

How much does it cost?

$399 + HST for grades 7–9 and $499 + HST for grades 10–12, for all 10 weeks. You apply first, and payment is only taken once we confirm the group is running.
